I am just another human being
I wonder why life can be so cruel
I hear Washington and Lincoln calling out to change things
I see a vision of utopia, no more liars, cheats, or thieves
I want to make a difference
But I am just another human being.

I pretend that I am happy
But I feel I should quit lying to myself
I touch the sky in my dreams
I worry I’ll never achieve them
And I cry
I’m only another human being.

I try to live the right way
I see so many living wrong
I don’t understand why I’m the odd one
I dream of finding true love someday
I hope this one dream comes true
I am just another human being.
